Most other insurances allow for physical therapy without a referral.
In the state of Georgia, physical therapists can see patients without a referral for 8 treatment sessions or 21 calendar days, whichever comes first. To continue physical therapy beyond 8 sessions, or 21 calendar days, a physician referral will be needed in all cases.
